Lease renewal rights

According to the article 553 of the Civil Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan (Civil code) and article 13-14 of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Lease”, the lessee has preferential right to extend the lease agreeement upon equal conditions before other persons, if the lessee has properly performed his duties. According to the legislation, the lessee shall be obliged to inform the lessor in writing about his intention to extend the lease agreement within a period specified in the lease agreement, and, if such period is not specified, then within a reasonable period before the expiry of the lease agreement.

When concluding a lease agreement for a new period, conditions of the agreement may be changed upon the consent of the parties.
