Waiver of sovereign immunity

Waiver of Sovereign Immunity (of Republic of Uzbekistan) in case of arbitration or legal action, suit or proceeding to enforce any arbitral award or any other legal process with respect to the State or any of its property.

1.1 Immunity under Uzbek Statute: In accordance with Article 79 of the Uzbek Civil Code, the state (represented by the Government) takes part in relationship regulated by civil legislation on equal grounds with other participants and is liable for its undertakings with its own property. Uzbek Civil Code is therefore clear that if a Government enters into commercial activity, it looses special treatment or sovereign immunity.
