List of Licensable Activities

73 types of activities are subject to licensing in Uzbekistan. Resolution No. 222-II of the Oliy Majlis “On the List of Types of Activities Subject to Licensing” of 12 May 2001, and Resolution No. 236 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan (“CM”) “On Measures for the Implementation of Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan On Licensing of Certain Type of Activities” of 28 June 2002, constitute the principal legislation in this field.

It should be noted that a number of other types of activities are also subject to licensing requirements (or other government approvals) in accordance with legislation specifically regulating those activities. Examples include banking, import/export activities, and certain construction activities.
