Necessity to Acquire a Work Permit by Foreign Staff

Issuance of work permits to foreign citizens is regulated by the Labour Code and a special Resolution No. 408.

Under Resolution No. 408 work permits are required only when foreign citizens intend to work in Uzbekistan for a locally incorporated legal entity under an employment contract.

Work permits are issued to foreign citizens only after their prospective employer has received permission to hire foreign staff.
