The employee is entitled not to come to work in cases of his temporary disability due to sickness. According to Instruction No 873 “On the procedure of issue of disability papers and medical certificates” of January 19, 2000 (the Instruction on Disability Papers), the employee’s temporary disability must be confirmed by the disability paper or medical certificate.
The disability papers and medical certificates allow the employee not to come to work for the period of sickness. Disability paper additionally provides him with the right to obtain a temporary disability allowance from the employer. Disability papers and medical certificates are provided for the period up to 4 months (6 months for those registered at TB dispensary).
