According to Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On State Retirement Benefits” dated September 3, 1993 (hereinafter Retirement Law), the citizens of Uzbekistan, as well as foreign citizens and persons without citizenship who are permanently resident in Uzbekistan, are entitled to state retirement insurance.

Pursuant to Retirement Law the retirement age in Uzbekistan is established as follows:

- for men – upon attainment of 60 years of age, with employment record at least 25 years;

- for women – upon attainment of 55 years of age, with employment record at least 20 years.
