By Western standards, it is difficult to dismiss an employee in Uzbekistan. There is no concept of “employment at will.” An employee may be dismissed only for certain reasons, which are specified in the Labour Code. Uzbek legislation leaves no other dismissal option but through termination of employment agreement.
As explained below, dismissal procedures based on various liquidation grounds are rather complicated and time consuming.
