Uzbek labour law has several signs of positive discrimination in favour of women. For example, there are several additional guarantees provided to women under the Labour Code (Articles 224-238), such as:
(i) prohibition against refusing employment to women or reducing their wages on the grounds of pregnancy or child care (Article 224 of the Labour Code);
(ii) restrictions regarding the use of women\'s labour at work under unfavourable labour conditions, as well as in work underground, except for certain types of underground operations (Article 225 of the Labour Code);
