The Law on Foreign Investments provides a definition for a foreign investment, in accordance to which foreign investments in the Republic of Uzbekistan are all types of material and non-material benefits and rights for them, including intellectual property rights, as well as any profit from investment activities invested to commercial or other activities aimed at making profits.

Profits invested to commercial or other types of activities as reinvestment mean all funds received in the Republic of Uzbekistan from previous investment activities including financial profits, interest rates, dividends, royalties, license fees and commissions, technical assistance payments and other types of rewards.
