There is no specific legislation that would govern the insolvency of the CBU. Also, the constituent documents of the CBU and its internal regulations are not publicly available and we, therefore, are not in a position to verify whether or not the insolvency of the CBU has the consequences different from those occurring when an ordinary legal entity is insolvent.
In accordance with the Central Bank Law, the CBU is qualified as a legal entity. In the absence of any specific legislation that would stipulate otherwise, we may speculate that the general rules relating to the insolvency of an Uzbek legal entity are applicable to the CBU.
